Best known as the innovators behind the HeatSponge brand of boiler economizers, Thermal Energy International (“TEI”) acquired Boilerroom Equipment Inc, (“BEI”) in June 2018 to broaden its portfolio of thermal energy efficiency solutions. As a result, Thermal Energy became the only known global supplier of proprietary direct and indirect contact heat recovery systems.
Over the past few years, not only has Boilerroom Equipment Inc. (BEI) contributed exponentially to the company’s record levels of revenue, profit and order intake, but and its HeatSponge product continued to grow through the pandemic since it requires less site access and minimal contact. Order intake for the Heat Sponge categories was reportedly 28% ahead of last year and 47% greater than the year before for financial year ended May 31, 2021.
In April 2021, BEI expanded to a new facility, that is 2.5X larger than the previous facility. The move enabled increased fabrication volumes, flexible stocking, more strategic US capacity, global flexibility, improved product shipping efficiency, and worldwide distribution. This greater US capacity is enabling us to develop larger models to expand HeatSponge high value-added technology into the larger petrochemical and heavy industrial boiler markets. The larger facility will also support the fabrication and distribution of TEI’s other solutions including Flu-Ace and GEM.
Most recently, BEI successfully certified its first economizer under its own ASME “U”-Stamp, a recognized indication of quality for Pressure Vessels, that ensures the design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of pressure vessels conform to the correct guidelines.
“With a growing number of heat recovery projects having been secured, BEI products are an integral part of TEI’s solutions, and a key part of our growth strategy” said William Crossland, Thermal Energy CEO.
The acquisition of BEI has proved immensely successful to date and TEI continue the integration and roll out of BEI’s technology through our established sales and engineering channels.
