This project demonstrates what is achievable when large scale heat recovery and steam efficiency are integrated into a live pulp and paper operation. By recovering energy from pulp dryer and smelt dissolving tank exhausts and eliminating widespread steam losses, the mill achieved a 35% reduction in natural gas use, over $4 million CAD in annual fuel savings, and a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, establishing a proven benchmark for large energy intensive sites worldwide.

Direct Contact Condensing Heat Recovery

With its unique direct contact design, FLU-ACE recovers up to 90% of energy normally lost through mill exhausts, converting it into usable hot water while reducing fuel use and emissions without disrupting production.
